The lid pops up at the time you’ve set it for and it has two independent 48 hour timers (one for each dish). It comes with an ice pack to keep food fresh if you need it.
I’ve used an auto feeder like this for years to give my 2 cats food or cookies or other treats just as if I was at home. It takes one AA battery which lasts for a very long time.
