This completely furnished Northern California Prospector’s Cabin was built on a gold claim in the early 1900’s. Previous to that, the land was a Wintu Indian Camping area for the Upper Sacramento River salmon harvest. My wife and myself, being retired and living on the same acreage in a ranch home, lovingly restored the Cabin inside and out to its original condition with many upgrades. It is THE BEST (non-smoking inside) Cabin available in California at this price! It has much period furniture, antique and newer along with Indian and mining artifacts found on the property.
It is a studio Cabin with a small kitchen and bath; stove, refrigerator, microwave; Dish Satellite Network with PVR Recording Receiver! TV/VCR/DVD; library of VCR TAPES DVD movies and music ; very comfortable double pillow top bed; clean linens, towels, toiletries and bedding supplied and in place; screened in porch with table; covered patio with chairs, spring and fountain; outside raised gas fire pit area with gas supplied; outside picnic table with electric rotisserie, gas barbeque and mosquito fan; outside path to secluded clearing with chairs and table; outside path lights and timers; gas and electric heat; water mister and air conditioning. A “very friendly ” two person hammock, with clean pillow, is nearby between two Fir Trees.
We have stocked the refrigerator, living room and cupboards with some complimentary food and snacks .
The Cabin is nestled in the woods (400 feet off paved road), and one can hike thousands of acres of public and corporation Timberland (zoned THP) with hundreds of miles of accessible recreational trails and forest service roads starting at the FRONT door! It is an ATV paradise! Two way Walkie talkies and scanner available for those who have a tendency to get lost J .
Two large spring fed KOI ponds are near (100 feet) the Cabin. Big Dog Pond is in our RV welcome area, next to our small seasonal creek, ending at Leprechaun Lane, directly below the Cabin. The original “Lost Lemurian Gold Mine” complete with artifacts and history may also be viewed on Leprechaun Lane. No physical entry to the Mine is allowed; however, you can see a lot from the barred entrance, while you sign the Guest Book!. Children AND adults are allowed to visit the Lemurian Trading Post on Rainbow Ridge and trade free trinkets with the Little People (open 24/7 !).
There is easy paved access to I-5 for those of you with wanderlust or you may WALK to the Upper Sacramento River (about 1 mile - so drive if you wish). At the River you can enjoy beaches, sunning, swimming, fishing, rafting, tubing , drowning (just checking to see if you are paying attention :-) ) and hunting the WILD LIFE (with cameras only of course)! It is five freeway miles to the town of Lakehead with Marinas, boating, resorts, restaurants, gas stations, Laundromat, grocery store and a thirty screen theater Cinema ( I am lying about the Cinema). We also supply information and guidebooks for self guided tours of Dunsmuir, Castle Crags, Mt Shasta, McCloud, Captain Jack’s Stronghold, Medicine Lake Highlands, Lassen Park, Whiskeytown, Old Shasta Historical Town and Redding ( see and walk the now famous $24 million Sundial Bridge over the Sacramento River!) We paid for this bridge with income from the cabin!

Our Cabin is designed to comfortably accommodate two for a serene, peaceful, (romantic?) get-a-way. However; it will take a crowded three, if you have already gotten romantic !
( a small single pull out trundle bed is under the double).
I guess we should confess the truth: another “permanent boarder” appears to have arrived this winter taking comfort under the Cabin. His name is “Ringo”. He is a Ring Tailed Cat (Miner’s Cat). He is nocturnal;
However, he seems willing to work during the day, if you are willing to share your lunch!
